LASER VEIN REMOVAL
INDICATIONS
The presence of spider veins on the face and around the nose is often the result of facial aging or adult acne (acne rosacea). Small, red lower leg veins also increase in number as we age. Congenital vascular malformations such as port wine stains are also amenable to these treatments.
SURGERY
Improvement can be achieved with treatment utilizing a vascular laser. We utilize a Coherent VPW vascular laser. A minimum of 2-3 treatments is necessary.
LOCATION
Outpatient, office, comfortable without the need for anesthesia.
TRADE OFFS
There may be mild temporary, swelling, or redness. Unlike treatment with older lasers there is no significant bruising and patients may return to work and normal activities the next day.
RISKS
Although uncommon, complications can occur as a result of inadequate surface cooling resulting in a bum to the overlying skin.
